Organizational and Cognitive Duality based on Interactions between Communities
Relying on the recent concepts of epistemic communities and communities of practice, we show that the firm can be defined according to a double duality: cognitive and organisational. The interest of this approach is to put in the forefront the differentiated behaviour of the manager and the entrepreneur within the firm. It also focuses on the organisational tensions in the light of the knowledge-based economy and knowledge management.
